Zoey Sidwell is an actor, writer, and filmmaker based in LA. Her directorial debut,Travel Plans, has screened at multiple festivals nationwide, including the Academy Award- and BAFTA-qualifying LA Shorts, and won an Indie Spirit Award at Idyllwild. Her writing projects placed in major competitions, including PAGE, Script Pipeline, Austin Film Festival, and Stowe Story Labs. As an actor, her work has appeared on ABC, NBC, CBS, and Netflix, and she earned a Best Supporting Actress nomination at Idyllwild for her role in Krieg.

Extended Bio

Zoey is an actor, writer, and filmmaker based in Los Angeles.  Her directorial debut, Travel Plans, is still on the festival circuit, but has already been accepted to twenty—including the Academy Award- and BAFTA-qualifying LA Shorts.  It won the Indie Spirit Award at Idyllwild 2026, where it awas also nominated for Best Short and Best Director, among others.  She has a stellar cast and crew to thank for that!


Zoey’s first feature placed in well-known screenwriting competitions, including PAGE, Script Pipeline, and Austin Film Festival, and was accepted to the Stowe Narrative Lab.  Her second is currently in rewrites. Her short, co-written with Krista Amigone, was a semifinalist for the Stowe $50,000 Production Grant, placing it in the top 50 out of nearly 2,000 projects.


Her work as an actor has appeared on ABC, NBC, CBS, and Netflix.  One of her favorite roles—as a French-speaking resistance fighter in the featurette Krieg—earned her a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Idyllwild Film Festival.  


She holds a B.A. in English from Wesleyan University, and an M.A. in Public Policy with a concentration in Women’s Studies from George Washington University.
